Whether punk is dead is a question that is often asked. These three bands at least prove that the subculture still exists and that punk is diverse.

FRONT from Wiesbaden make punk. Bulky, edgy, straightforward - inspired by the 80s, but not lagging behind. Cold, gloomy, sometimes desperate punk, flanked by noisy and hectic-frickel sounds that oscillate somewhere between the old heroes of Fehlfarben and Mittagspause and current bands such as Karies or Love A. FRONT have been on the road with this mixture for more than 20 years and have released five albums and played numerous concerts near and far. "Verlieren" is the name of their new single, which they will present for the first time on November 7.

PHILEAS FOGG is not only a world traveler, but also German-language post punk in a class of its own. Andeas, Fabian and Nicholas mix post-punk, wave and NDW to create a captivating and incredibly danceable music that is unparalleled in this country. The style of Phileas Fogg evokes associations with bands such as Fehlfarben, The Cure and Joy Division, or for those who need more modern references: Love A, Messer or Illegal Colors. Phileas Fogg have released two albums to date. Their latest album is called "allesmussseinendefinden" and was released this spring.

THE PROMISED END are from Boston, Massachusetts. Their music combines the best that Boston has produced in its long history of punk and hardcore. Their sound is a declaration of love to early American hardcore and the Youth Crew. The lyrics are characterized by personal grief, political frustration and the search for community in a time of isolation. Consisting of members of Landmines, The Effort and Sky Tigers, The Promised End released their debut album "For The Buried And The Broken" on Gunner Records last year and will be presenting it for the first time in Wiesbaden.
