Welcome to the Schumanns!

The Schumann House invites you to bring the past back to life. From 1852, the musician couple Clara and Robert Schumann lived with their children at Bilker Straße 15. It is the only family home that has been preserved in its historical structure. Due to its special significance, the building - as exhibit number 1, so to speak - was renovated in line with its listed status and converted into a museum.

In eight themed rooms, visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the musical culture of the 19th century and in particular in the intensive Düsseldorf phase of Robert and Clara Schumann's life and work.
