The conservators of the LVR-Landesmuseum Bonn invite you to the temporary mosaic workshop in the museum and provide exclusive insights into the work on the Roman "Medusa Mosaic". In 1904, workers discovered a sensational find in the area of the former Roman legionary camp in Bonn: an almost completely preserved floor mosaic - a rarity in a military camp north of the Alps. For 40 years, the floor mosaic was on display in the predecessor of today's State Museum before it fell victim to an aerial bomb in December 1944. Eight decades later, the surviving fragments are reassembled before the public's eyes to form a complete picture.
