The plan is to say nothing on this stage tonight. Five minutes of silence against the noise of the world. Silence so as not to know immediately what needs to be said and done. Silence so as not to accuse others of untruth or intolerance. Because outside the protected theater space, there are now opposing positions that make peaceful silence impossible. But inside, silence must be conceivable, because the stage can channel and absorb the perpetual stream of words, thoughts and attributions and could become a place of contemplation. But simply remaining silent is more difficult than expected and drives the characters from silence into noise. As nice as the idea was, now one crude story follows the next and each player vies for the audience's attention with new vanities. That's it for the silence.
