Future of Europe in the Heart of Munich

An art project of the babyrd platform:

The "Future of Europe in the heart of Munich" project brings together young artists from Munich and Paris to artistically shape their vision of Europe 2050.

babyrd (pronounced: ba-bird), founded by Djamel Benghedadra, proudly presents an innovative idea: an online-to-offline platform that offers creative minds such as artists and journalists a space for collaboration, networking and short-term co-living. The principle is simple: each member shares their available resources in their own advertisement - whether it's accommodation, studios, workshops, craftsmanship or their own professional network.

The "Future of Europe in the Heart of Munich" event is the first to put this concept into practice. Visual artists from Paris were invited to Munich to form tandems with local artists. The special thing about this project is the close connection in the private sphere: Each Munich artist opens his or her home to the partner to work together on artworks. The results of this creative collaboration will be exhibited in the Laim City Library at the end of the collaboration.

In the exhibition, five tandems express their vision of Europe in 2050 in their art. Between hope and reality, the artists reflect on how issues such as mobility, migration, technology, climate and sovereignty will shape the Europe of the future.
