Gardi Hutter: Zero

Hanna, Gardi Hutter's clownish alter ego, has told comic stories of failure in nine plays to date, each from a different workshop - whether washerwoman, witch, mouse, secretary, circus clown, showgirl, prompter or seamstress - they all come to a tragic-comic end. Only topped in the last piece, Gaia Gaudi: after a pleasurable decomposition, clown Hanna disappears in a suitcase and is thrown out of the world.
Now she floats as a ghost in empty space. Quasi in distilled form. Quasi as essence. Quasi. - The great failure - or the great freedom? Gardi Hutter wants to continue fantasizing right here and create her tenth play together with Michael Vogel. All about nothing.

ZERO

gardiZERO is a tribute to the power of transformation - be it the birth of a new life, the evolution of nature or the constant change within ourselves. Gardi Hutter shows that nothingness is not empty, but full of possibilities. The play is a philosophical and amusing exploration of nothingness, the beginning of all things. From the apparent emptiness comes life, from chaos comes order, and from nothing comes - everything. With her stubborn humor and magnificent physicality, the clown embarks on a journey through the birth of things, from the first twitch to the complete transformation. The microcosm of theater becomes a creative - and comic - macrocosm. With minimal means and maximum expressiveness, she plays with the opposites of emptiness and fullness, stasis and movement, absurdity and meaning. In a world characterized by chaos and constant change, Gardi Hutter invites her audience to discover the beauty of origin, transformation and birth. A celebration of fantasy: clownish, grotesque, poetic.
