"No ideology of any kind, no dogmas, no fixed aesthetics." This is how Thomas Blomenkamp describes his compositional work. The Düsseldorf composer, whose legacy is kept at the Heinrich Heine Institute during his lifetime, is now celebrating his 70th birthday.
The multi-award-winning Morgenstern Trio is celebrating the composer with a concert whose program includes compositions by Robert Schumann (his last piano trio in G minor, op. 110, composed in Düsseldorf in 1851) and Gustav Holst () and Gustav Holst ("Mars") as well as two piano trios by Blomenkamp himself: "Les Paysages de Mars" (2022, premiere 2023 at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg) and "Prelude, Prestissimo, Pavane and Precipitato" (2019, premiere 2020 at the Philharmonie - Mercatorhalle Duisburg).
