Geführte Fahrradtour zur Hoesch-Geschichte

On the trail of steel and iron: Guided bike tour on the history of Hoesch

Discover the traces of steel and iron in Dortmund by bike - this is the opportunity offered by the public events at the Hoesch Museum Dortmund. The guided bike tour starts at 11 a.m. on the specified dates at the Hoesch Museum, Eberhardstraße 12, and first leads exclusively through the grounds of the former Westfalenhütte, now ThyssenKrupp. The tour then continues to PHOENIX Lake and back to the Hoesch Museum via the Phoenix West site. At the end of the tour, there will be a short introduction to the permanent exhibition (not available for the March tour due to renovation work).

Participants will cycle partly along the former steel and iron transportation tracks and along the paths of the former Elias railroad. The route is around 30 km long. The trip takes four to five hours, including a break at PHOENIX Lake. The tour under the expert guidance of Ute Baum, Frank Passon or Werner Schiefelbein costs 6.00 euros per person. All participants need roadworthy bicycles, must be able to ride safely in traffic and in the city and should wear bicycle helmets.
