The great poet Rainer Maria Rilke (4.12.1875 - 29.12.1926) has his 150th birthday on 4.12.2025. We are dedicating an entire evening of theater to him on that very day. The actor Thomas Arnold is known for his intense, expressive way of interpreting texts. It gets under your skin. It is not only Rilke's "hits", such as "The Panther", that are engraved in the audience's memory. Thomas Arnold has also unearthed lesser-known texts by the poet and surprises the audience in his very own way.
The solo pianist Ulugbek Palvanov on the piano is a stroke of luck. The magician on the black and white keys plays preludes by Frédéric Chopin. Palvanov and Arnold build up an arc of tension full of power and intensity and move at a fascinating artistic height. They celebrate Rainer Maria Rilke's wisdom on the great themes of life: "transience, beauty, love and spirituality" and explore their goosebump moments. This is pure enjoyment and a fitting birthday present for one of the greatest poets of all time!
