Our cities are an expression of who was allowed to decide - and who was not considered. Many urban structures are still based on plans that are oriented towards a small, privileged group: wealthy, white, full-time employed, without disabilities, male, cis. But what happens when other realities of life - from care work and mobility restrictions to racial discrimination or poverty - find no place in the cityscape?

The feminist city tour invites you to make these blind spots visible. Together we ask: Who is included or excluded by urban planning? Where does inequality manifest itself through implicit or active exclusion in everyday life? And what could a city look like that is oriented towards the needs of all - instead of just the ideas of some?

Using specific locations in Hamburg, we will look at access to public infrastructure, representation in the cityscape, safety in public spaces and environmental (in)justice as an expression of intersectional discrimination. The tour opens up perspectives on a city that could be more caring, fairer and more liveable - for everyone.
