A generation, approximately 27 years, represents the time between the birth of a parent and their child. According to a study (2023), the average age difference between parents at the birth of their offspring was seven years. This premiere sheds light on the body images and dance language links of three generations of choreographers and one generation of dancers.
In the spirit of illustrating artistic 'generation gaps', the two more experienced choreographers in the program form the framework for the creation of the youngest dance creator:
Fabien Prioville, who is based in Düsseldorf with his company and whose adaptation Sides (Short) invites us to reflect on the encounter between dance and digitality, kicks off the program. Johana Malédon, an up-and-coming choreographer who was awarded the Theater Münster Production Prize at the 38th International Choreographic Competition Hannover 2024, then reflects on the theme of farewell with À Bientôt. Finally, Yoshiko Waki, who has been performing with the dance theater company bodytalk (2009) at the Theater im Pumpenhaus in Münster since 2016, embarks on a search for HAPPINESS in her dance theater piece.
