The dance piece Gleis 3 tells the story of Rosa Lukesch, who, like many Transylvanian Saxons - a German minority in Romania - was deported to Russia for forced labor in 1945.

In her solo piece, Heike Schuster questions how people can survive such dramatic events and how subsequent generations can succeed in transforming such a difficult legacy into something hopeful.

From historical accounts and documents, it can be seen that the connection to sources from which enormous, almost superhuman strength was gained was vital during the five years of deportation. The extraordinary significance of these resources is brought to the fore in Gleis 3 and illuminated by poetic moving images.

The audience discussion following the performance on 13.12. will be moderated by cultural advisor Dr. Heinke Fabritius.
