Allow me, Morgenstern! Listening, smelling and crafting poems...

At the next concert evening in the Global Pott - Musik im Salon series, we can look forward to a 105-minute literature-based solo stage program by musician and actor Stephan Reiß.

As in his first show Schiller! Gedichte hören, sehen und schmecken , Reiß's concept is to interpret poetry as a staged performance, going far beyond a classic poetry recital in terms of both declamatory and dramatic means. The original text remains unchanged.

Extra-linguistic elements such as music, recordings, props and scents are used so that each piece appears unique and surprising in its form of presentation. Morgenstern is a narrative piece that traces the life story of the poet Christian Morgenstern through his works and aims to take the audience into the historical setting of the German Empire.

The Global Pott brings the world to Kunsthaus Essen: Every first Thursday of the month, international sound cultures meet experimental formats, improvised sound spaces and unusual ensemble formations. The new concert series presents musicians from the Ruhr region and beyond, whose roots and sounds are as diverse as the region itself. The program evolved from the established chamber music series Kunsthaus Salon and has now been expanded to include global perspectives and new musical approaches.
