Globetales - Das Reisevortrags Festival für Abenteuer & Reisen

A day full of adventure, stories and travel - Globetales Oldenburg is the travel lecture festival for everyone who has wanderlust and loves great stories.

On April 18, 2026, three live reports at CORE Oldenburg will take you to Ecuador, under the starry skies of Europe and to Germany's southernmost workplace in the eternal ice of Antarctica. The highlight will be live acoustic music.

In "Ecuador - One country, four worlds", wildlife ecologist and photographer Anskar Lenzen shows the incredible diversity of a country: Amazon rainforest, Andean highlands, cloud forests, Pacific coast and the unique Galápagos Islands - with impressive animal encounters from the Andean rock cock to the jaguar. He has already appeared on stage at the MUNDOLOGIA Festival, the largest reportage festival in Central Europe.

In "Über mir der Sternenhimmel", Johanna Geils tells how she traveled from Cyprus to the North Cape with just a rucksack and hammock: five months outdoors, over 2,000 kilometers on foot, eleven countries, nights under the open sky - between storms, cold and breathtaking natural moments. She has recorded her story in a book. She has already been a guest on various TV programs and appeared at the Discovery Days in Switzerland.

In "70 Wochen Antarktis - Überleben im ewigen Eis", Michael Trautmann, who spent the winter in Antarctica as an expedition engineer and photographer for the SPIEGEL bestseller "Polarschimmer", talks about his life and work at the Neumayer III research station. With captivating stories, breathtaking images and moving videos, he brings you closer to life in the coldest place on earth - between endless darkness, storms, isolation and a team that can only survive together.

As an artist from the North Sea, he touches the hearts of his audience with his special voice and soulful singing. He has already performed on major stages such as The Voice of Germany and in the EWE Arena Oldenburg and is a two-time winner of the renowned Plattsounds competition.

There is also the "Discovery World", which is accessible free of charge: on 500 m² of exhibition space, you can immerse yourself in impressive photographs, discover personal travel items belonging to the speakers and talk to them directly.
