When violinist Miki Kekenj is not at the Bergische Symphoniker concertmaster's desk, he devotes himself to his second passion as a composer and arranger: translating modern songs into a classical musical language. For over ten years, he has been working with his Takeover! Ensemble, he has been working on fusion projects with big names from the German rock, pop, soul and hip-hop scene. While Samy Deluxe, Stefanie Heinzmann and Max Herre were recently guests at the Glocke, Joris has now announced his arrival. Since storming the charts in 2015 with his single "Herz über Kopf" and his debut album "Hoffnungslos Hoffnungsvoll", the singer-songwriter has been impressing audiences with his expressive and soulful voice in songs full of a relaxed indie mood between rock and pop. His current album "Zu viel Retro" deliberately dispenses with the use of AI tools and focuses entirely on handmade music with real instruments. So what could be more natural than to present a selection of his songs in new arrangements specially adapted for chamber ensemble?
