Religion plays a special role when fleeing and making a new start - it can provide support and orientation, but can also bring challenges and conflicts. In this panel discussion, we want to discuss the importance of religion for refugees in their home country, when fleeing and when arriving.
What support does it offer? What insecurities and dangers can arise?
In addition, we will discuss in general: What gives people strength and support in difficult times - religion, human rights, freedom?
We cordially invite people of different faiths and with experience of flight to join us in conversation on this topic.
- Keita Balde fled from Senegal and is now a nurse at the Barmherzige Brüder Hospital in Munich.
- Abier Al Daheen fled from Iraq with her son, is active in the Syrian-Arab Catholic community and works at Refugio, among others.
- Suzy Poaty from Gabon came to Germany as a student and works as a volunteer in pastoral care for senior citizens.
