Graphic Novel Tage: Workshop mit Lena Winkel

Developing characters, making comic books and writing a story

Lena Winkel, born in 1993, is an illustrator and comic artist. In addition to numerous children's and picture books (including "Rico und die Tuchlaterne" with Andreas Steinhöfel, Carlsen), she has written "Tiere richtig zeichnen" (Transcript/Jaja), a treatise on animals in children's books and comics, for which she was a finalist for the Berthold Leibinger Foundation Comic Book Prize.

Anyone aged 14 and over is invited to get creative with Lena. We will spend three hours developing characters together, making our own comic books and writing and drawing a short story. We will take a close look at visual stereotypes: for example, how is gender expressed in drawing and language? What happens when role stereotypes are fulfilled or deliberately broken?
