Wyoming around 1880: In the saloon of the small town of Big Whiskey, two cowboys brutally slash the face of prostitute Delilah. But the corrupt sheriff has no intention of punishing the two violent criminals. The angry prostitutes then offer a reward: 1000 dollars for the death of the cowboys. The would-be bounty hunter Schofield Kid gets wind of this. He decides to hire the aging ex-gunslinger Bill Munny, who has been living with his children as a farmer on a small ranch for years. Munny is initially unenthusiastic about the idea, but could make good use of the money. Together with his old friend Ned, Bill and the Schofield Kid go looking for the cowboys. And are in turn hunted by the sheriff.
ERBARMUNGSLOS is a masterfully staged Western epic about revenge and redemption and about the myths of the West and Westerns, which raises the question of what it really means to act justly. Winner of four Oscars!
