Hadžić / Meissner / Breu / Obleser – Experimental Avant-Art

In the organizer's words:

The quartet expands the duo Milica & Vincent with Maximilian Breu (drums) and Jakob Obleser (double bass). The two musicians met in the summer of 2024 at the International Jazzplatform festival and workshop in Łódź, which laid the foundation for their musical collaboration. In this ensemble, the intimacy of the duo meets rhythmic depth and harmonic diversity. The program includes original compositions, adaptations of pop and rock songs, Serbian music and free improvisation. The band creates a space in which cultural influences, experimental approaches and musical joy of playing meet - a concert full of energy, sensitivity and surprising twists and turns.

Milica Hadžić, singer, pianist and composer, lives in Antwerp and works mainly in the fields of free improvisation and performance art. Vincent Meissner, born in 2000, studies in Leipzig and combines jazz influences from Andrew Hill and Craig Taborn to German jazz greats such as Pablo Held with contemporary piano music. Maximilian Breu and Jakob Obleser complement the quartet with their dynamic rhythms and variety of timbres, making the ensemble an independent voice in the contemporary music scene.
