Mädness is alive. And it could have turned out differently. He struggled with and against his addictive behavior for too long, the dark phases were too deep, the setbacks too harsh. But Mädness not only underwent a profound transformation as a rapper, but also on a personal level. The place where he found himself again - first with "OG", then with "Mäd Löve" - finally seemed to be the center that had been missing from his life for so long. "Maggo lebt" now reveals the realization that even this longed-for peace is fragile.

Maggo is alive. As if nothing had happened. But a lot has been. These seven songs accept it all, they allow for melancholy and doubt, crises and aberrations. Over the years, Mädness has grown both in himself and in his tasks. On the one hand, there's the struggle to secure the livelihood of a self-employed person between profession and vocation; on the other hand, there's letting go and letting go, which can be damn hard. What Maggo lives today is a life of hard-earned balance, of arriving at being on the move.

Maggo lives goes way back to "Maggo" from 2014, a release that was instrumental in giving Mädness' rap career new life. Ever since that moment, it has felt like the bonus level of adult rap, like being a self-confident artist who can prove everything and no longer has to. And to dispel any doubts: Maggo is Mädness is Maggo is Mädness. Just so nobody has to fabulate about supposed concepts and alter egos. Maggo lives in close contact with his environment. He has always clearly formulated the importance of friends and family, and this connection has always driven his art. With Fatoni and Amewu, two highly accomplished rappers contribute verses that speak of a similar wealth of experience, but also their very own perspectives. Adequate soul and deep boom come from Torky Tork and Skool Boy, Gibmafuffi, Enaka and Tribez, also almost all long-time companions.

Maggo lives the good life. He can enjoy and appreciate, can look back benevolently on his own story and tell it in such a way that you can feel the nuances of restlessness and new beginnings as well as all the love and serenity in which he rests. It is a life between his home town and the metropolis, between big stages and even bigger introspection.

Maggo is alive. While many things are going to the dogs: customs, culture, the world itself. His life is the antithesis of dreary rap pessimism and an appropriately egotistical plea for not always defining oneself against something, but for it.
