Have you ever talked to a tree?
The "chatting plane tree" is a project that shows how artificial intelligence can be used to explore and interact with the environment. Conversations with the environmental chatbot reveal both familiar and surprising perspectives on environmental and climate protection. With a twinkle in our eye, we will answer the question of how non-human actors can be involved in social or political debates.
In the workshop, we will jointly develop system inputs, so-called prompts, for a "chatting plane tree" and experiment live with various role clichés - from the humorous urban tree to the sober urbanist to the angry environmental activist. In the workshop and in a concluding discussion, we want to explore the following questions together: Can a tree chatbot represent interests at all; and if so, whose? What stories can such a project tell? How can new ideas and narratives be introduced? And how can the perspectives of a non-human stakeholder be meaningfully integrated into political discussions?
No prior knowledge of AI is required to participate.
