HEART ATTACK MAN

In the organizer's words:
Heart Attack Man from Cleveland, Ohio come from classic pop-punk, but have continued to differentiate their style over four albums and a handful of additional EPs. They have now found their very own sound - as their fourth album "Joyride the Pale Horse", released at the end of April, proves. For their fourth long-player, they relied on a tried-and-tested location and a functioning team: once again, they went to the Barbershop Studio in New Jersey with producer Brett Romnes, with whom they had already recorded their successful second album "Fake Blood". Musically, the band drew inspiration for the album from such contrasting artists as Hum, Failure, Type O Negative, Quicksand and Unwritten Law. These inspirations mix surprising, complicated rhythm changes and a thick layer of 90s fuzz into their already oppressive sound. In terms of content, it's also about much more than "shiny happy power pop": as on previous albums, Heart Attack Man devote themselves to certain themes in greater detail and over a whole number of songs. For "Joyride the Pale Horse", these include life and death, art and AI, but also hope and despair. Frontman Eric Egan describes it this way: "With each of our songs that comes to life, I have the thought in the back of my mind that it could be the last good song we ever write. At the same time, in many ways it feels like we're just starting to tell our stories. This album is the intersection between pessimism and optimism, between life and death, between art and artifice." Heart Attack Man thus present a clearly mature album on which they have found their very own style. This may also be due to the fact that this is the first time they have released two albums in a row with the same line-up. Heart Attack Man was originally launched in 2013 as a purely solo studio project by Eric Egan, but drummer Adam Paduch soon joined the band. Second guitarist Ty Sickels has been on board since 2017, and this rump trio was then repeatedly supplemented by other bassists and guitarists. Since 2023, the three have been working alone in their core line-up - this has only benefited the pressure of their sound. As you can now experience live in October, as part of their three German shows in Cologne, Hamburg and Berlin. The tour is presented by Messed!Up Magazine. This content has been machine translated.
