Heideblütenfest Amelinghausen

The Heath Blossom Festival in Amelinghausen is a tribute to the unique nature of the Lüneburg Heath and the colorful blossoming of the heath in the middle of August. With a colorful program of music, shows, exploration tours and the majestic splendor of the Heath Queen, the Heath Blossom Festival is one of the largest and most popular folk festivals in the Lüneburg Heath. The nine-day festival week kicks off with the opening ceremony "The lake burns" around the Lopausee, featuring an impressive open-air laser show with flame and pyrotechnic effects. In the following week of festivities, the program highlights include an adventure Sunday, the rustic and cosy Heidjer evening, the entertaining Heidebock election and numerous guided hikes and bike tours. The highlight of the festivities is the annual crowning of the new Heath Queen on the Kronsberg and the subsequent parade through Amelinghausen.

"THE LAKE IS ON FIRE"

To kick off the 74th Heath Blossom Festival, visitors to the Lopausee can look forward to a spectacular evening with an open-air laser show with flame and pyro effects on a water shield. In addition to live music and market activities, you can also look forward to a pre-program with a bouncy castle, photo box, tombola and much more.

PURPLE MOOD SUNDAY

Amelinghausen will honor the second day of the festive Heideblütenfest week with a special Sunday in the town center with a variety of activities for young and old. Among other things, a large flea market, a vintage car exhibition, brass band music and colorful activities such as a human table football tournament are planned.

ELECTION OF THE HEIDEBOCK

As a counterpart to the annual election of the Heidekönigin, the festive Heidebock election will take place again this year at the Niedersachsenhof. You can look forward to a colourful programme under this year's motto "Heide Westen - Der mit dem Bock tanzt", organized by the Heideböcke Amelinghausen e.V. association.

ELECTION OF THE HEATH QUEEN 25/26

Who will be the new Heidekönigin and thus succeed the reigning Nele Rörup? This question will be answered at the grand finale of the Heideblütenfest week on Sunday on the Kronsberg. After all the candidates have presented themselves, an expert jury will choose the winner and thus the new Heather Queen.

The grand finale of the Heideblütenfet week is the big parade with the newly crowned Heidekönigin, magnificently decorated floats, clubs and marching bands. In the evening, the award ceremony for the festival queen is also on the program on the market mile at the town hall.
