In the organizer's words:

The self-confident Sister Barnes (Sophie Thatcher) and the shy Sister Paxton (Chloe East) are Mormon missionaries. Still untrained but full of conviction, they knock on strangers' doors to spread the word of their faith community, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to the world. Although they cycle to a long list of addresses, hardly anyone is willing to listen to their message.

Only a reclusive man, Mr. Reed (Hugh Grant), is open to their visit. He invites them to his secluded home in the suburbs and begins to discuss God and the world with his two guests. Only slowly do the two women begin to realize that not everything is as it seems.
