In 1967, the Hesselbach series on Hessischer Rundfunk came to an abrupt end, although 3 scripts were still available. They have disappeared in the HR archives ...
Jo van Nelsen, Frankfurt cabaret artist and Hesselbach expert, has now rediscovered two of them after years of research: With "Herr Hesselbach und die Entwicklungshilfe", Jo van Nelsen now presents the first of the two in a reading version, in which he has supplemented the script dialogues with narrative sections in the style of Wolf Schmidt.
The result is an amusing and once again highly topical play about German prejudices and xenophobia, featuring no less than 5 dialects and 5 foreign languages.
Jo van Nelsen also overcomes this hurdle and takes on all the roles - and lets this previously unseen movie play out in front of our eyes again.
A must for all Hesselbach fans and those who want to become one!
