HfK Jazzclub: Pinnowation

In the organizer's words:

Constantly in search of new sounds and new expression, "PINNOWATION" is dedicated to the versatile compositions of bandleader and pianist Moritz Pinnow. Their music combines traditional jazz approaches with modern elements from various styles. Inspired by artists ranging from Bill Evans to Esbjörn Svenssson, they create a captivating soundscape of tender lyrical moments and groovy passages. Pinnow's playing is characterized by an interwoven harmonic complexity and a playful, joyful melodic line, which is purposefully supported or contrasted by the band. The quartet skillfully opens up emotional moments in constant exchange with each other and the audience.

Frederik Palupski - has been studying percussion at the HfK Bremen since 2022. His projects range from classical percussion ensembles and experimental electronic music to mature jazz concerts with a mixture of traditional repertoire, spontaneous improvisation and original compositions.

Moritz Pinnow - has been studying jazz piano at the HfK Bremen since 2022. His compositions have been played at Multiphonics Hamburg 2021 with the Frank Gratkowski Quartet and with free jazz double bassist John Hughes at Hafenbahnhof Hamburg.
