The Frankfurter Kunstverein invites the Diamant Museum für Urbane Kultur, Offenbach to the Steinerne Haus am Römerberg. A four-week cooperation with numerous activities, activations and docking opportunities is being created in intensive collaboration. Hidden History is more than just an exhibition. On display are protocol spaces of historical and current positions of subversive, subcultural activity in the form of installations, activatable spaces, visual wall newspapers, collaborative wall drawings, tape art, performances and video installations.

Which actors and activities have shaped the scene in Frankfurt-Offenbach-RhineMain in recent years? And what impact do they still have on the cultural fabric of our city today? Hidden History takes a look behind the scenes of the city and provides exemplary insights into the culture of a public sphere that is hidden to many. This culture also has its masters, legends and masterpieces. In Hidden History, we can discover them together.

The exhibition at the Frankfurter Kunstverein thus expands the cultural space of perception. Curated by Heiner Blum in cooperation with the team of the Frankfurter Kunstverein, a lively and open place of cultural research and activity is being created.

The Frankfurter Kunstverein invites everyone to discover new perspectives and participate in a playful way. An essential part of Hidden History are performative events, workshops, lectures, guided tours and concerts. For children and young people, there is an extensive workshop program with artists from the exhibition that goes beyond digital habits to rediscover the city and its signs as a space for experience and opens up analogue spaces of possibility.

To give visitors the opportunity to visit the exhibition and the numerous performances, workshops and special events several times, the Frankfurter Kunstverein has reduced the admission fees for the duration of the exhibition: €5 per visit. This already includes participation in an event or guided tour during the visit.
