In the organizer's words:

More than seven million people set sail overseas from Bremerhaven. Today, the German Emigration Center is located where they left Europe. During the highlight tour, guests learn more about the history of migration since 1683, amidst faithfully reconstructed exhibition rooms that turn a visit to the museum into a journey through time. They also experience living together in Germany as a country of immigration at first hand. Based on authentic life stories, they learn how migration shapes the community and how diverse the human experience of migration is. After the tour, visitors have the opportunity to search for emigrated ancestors themselves in the family research section and explore the museum on their own.

The German Emigration Center offers the highlight tours with a personal guide on regular dates. Groups can make individual appointments for guided tours. (Please use the forms on the page for group bookings).
