Get in the mood for the new astronomical year and find out which celestial events can be seen in 2026. The highlight is likely to be the total solar eclipse on August 12. While the sun will be completely eclipsed over a narrow strip from Iceland, across the Iberian Peninsula to the Balearic Islands, at least 85% coverage can be expected from Potsdam. An unforgettable celestial event awaits us! Space fans will be eagerly awaiting the launch of Artemis 2 planned for 2026 - the first manned flight to the moon since 1972.
