The HISS band has been on the road since 1995. When Mount Etna and Eyjaflallajökull erupted, when floods of the century and hurricanes caused great damage, it has cheered us up and comforted us. After Germany's defeat to Croatia in the quarter-finals of the 1998 World Cup and during the financial crisis, after the Fukushima nuclear disaster and during many epidemics, it helped us to keep an overview, to put things in order and to cope with them. Since 1995, HISS have been providing lyrical life support for all situations in life, the rhythm for exuberant dance evenings, the soundtrack to our everyday lives.
And without asking for much: Thunderous applause, some wine, a snack and a few coins are reward enough for them. "Für eine Handvoll Cent" is therefore the title of their new album, which is being released in their 30th year of existence and delights us with more than a handful of new songs.
We hear songs full of power, wit and life experience about the eternal themes of love, addiction, long-distance travel and the weather in a unique mixture of polka and rock'n'roll, Tex-Mex and Balkan blues, ska and country, dirt and greasepaint.
New album/CD: For a handful of cents from Nov. 2025
