After Liat Beinin Atzili was kidnapped on October 7, 2023, her Israeli-American family tries to free her and secure the future of the places they call home. In the morning, Liat and her husband Aviv were still at home when Hamas attacked their kibbutz. In the evening, they were imprisoned in Gaza along with 250 other people. Between international diplomacy and a rapidly escalating war, the family must endure their own uncertainty and conflicting perspectives as they wait for news. HOLDING LIAT intimately illuminates identity, family and belonging at the epicenter of a global conflict unfolding in real time.
