Metal concert in the HALLE
Hollywood Undead became famous in the noughties with their muscular sound between hip-hop and metal - and not least their always masked appearance. The band began in 2005 as the musical project of three friends J-Dog, Deuce and Shady Jeff and quickly catapulted from a garage in Los Angeles to the world's biggest stages.
After an intensive search for a label that would not censor them, they released their debut album "Swan Songs" in September 2008, which went straight into the top 25 of the Billboard charts. Shady Jeff left the band shortly before the album release, and in 2010 Deuce followed, replaced by Daniel Murillo aka Danny. The second album "American Tragedy" was released in April 2011 and was another success, reaching number four in the Billboard charts. But Hollywood Undead did not rest on their laurels: in January 2013 - just two years later - they followed up with the acclaimed "Notes from the Underground", and again two years later with "Day of the Dead" in March 2015. Another album and further line-up changes later, "New Empire, Vol. 1" and "New Empire, Vol. 2" were released in 2020, two albums with a stronger focus on hip-hop.
Their eighth - and so far last - studio album "Hotel Kalifornia" was released in August 2022 and delighted many long-time fans: the band returned to the sound of their early years with a perfect blend of rap, anthemic choruses and dark guitar riffs - a true masterpiece of nu-metal and rap-rock. Several new tracks have been released since then, so we can look forward to seeing what else awaits us on this year's tour.
