HOMMAGE: Camille Lepage 1988 – 2014

In the organizer's words:

HOMMAGE - Camille Lepage 1988 - 2014
An exhibition of the Association "Camille Lepage - On est ensemble"
in collaboration with the twinning office of the city of Osnabrück

Camille Lepage (1988 - 2014) was a French journalist who was murdered in the Central African Republic on May 12, 2014. Originally from Angers, Lepage worked as a freelancer for the Los Angeles Times and the Egyptian daily newspaper Al Masry Al Youm, among others, while studying journalism at Southampton Solent University from 2008 to 2012. After graduating, she continued her professional work in Sudan, South Sudan and the Central African Republic from the beginning of July 2012, taking 60,000 photos of the lives and deaths of people in these countries ravaged by civil war.

All of Camille's professional intimacy unfolds in front of these thousands of passing images - and above all exceptional photographs: for their aesthetic and journalistic quality, their testimonial character, their precise view of the complex and contradictory sides of humanity. (Lorenzo Virgili, curator of the exhibition / Translation: Nathan Macé, City Ambassador)

The exhibition includes a selection of 70 photos by Camille Lepage, 35 of which were taken in South Sudan and 35 in the Central African Republic.
