Hot Flashes – Cool Stories

In the organizer's words:

Hot Flashes - Cool Stories

Writing workshop on the menopause

The menopause is more than hot flashes and hormones - it is a time of change, pause and new beginnings. And yet much remains unspoken, especially in the everyday working lives of female teachers and educators.

Together with the artists Eva Löbau and Judith Huber, we will write, reflect and share our experiences: about bodies and work, about ruptures and new beginnings, about what can be let go - and what wants to grow.

Two intensive workshop days invite you to use the turn of the year for yourself: to draw strength, to exchange ideas and to work on your own story. Between reflection and humor, seriousness and lightness, we open up a protected space to appreciate and celebrate our experiences - and to find new narratives for what is to come.

About the workshop leader

Judith Huber is a freelance actress, performer and author with training in musical theater and acting; she lives and works in Munich. She has been developing works on identity, change and community for many years. In her artistic practice, Huber combines theater, performance and writing and is committed to rethinking old forms.

Eva Löbau is an actress, performer and author who frequently works on interdisciplinary projects and was a member of the ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele. She has appeared in film and television productions, including Der Wald vor lauter Bäumen by Maren Ade and Knallhart by Detlev Buck. She also shows how life stories, everyday life and change can be told in more recent projects such as Das Lehrerzimmer, in series such as Familie Bundschuh or as Tatort-Kommissarin.
