Born in Beirut and living in Germany since her childhood, the artist Huda Neugebauer dedicates her painting to a quiet, empathetic examination of people. Her works are characterized by a subtle use of colour and a quiet intensity. Figures appear fragile and at the same time present - framed in sensitive compositions that open up space for personal associations and interpretations.
Neugebauer combines acrylic and oil paints with natural pigments and chalk in her works. With this nuanced use of materials, she succeeds in making subtle emotional states visible - in-between spaces of human existence that often remain hidden in everyday life. Her pictures are deliberately untitled: they are meant to remain open like thoughts, feelings or memories.
In addition to her artistic work, Huda Neugebauer is a qualified social pedagogue and art therapist. For over a decade, she has run the Villa Wiese in Bonn, a painting and creative school for children and adults, and is committed to encouraging people in their own artistic expression.
