HURTING SCULPTURES

Group exhibition with works by Jenny Ayala, Steffen Jopp and Stephan Marienfeld.

In a space where concrete and steel once promised protection, an exhibition unfolds that tells of the fragility and resilience of the body and soul. The sculptures carry their wounds with them and show them - fractures, cracks, bruises.

The bunker itself becomes part of this choreography. The history, but also the massive building itself, intensify the experience of vulnerability. Visitors move through zones in which forms of injury and change are addressed before fields of light open up in which healing can be experienced.

HURTING SCULPTURES invites visitors not to hide injury, but to understand it as part of an ongoing transformation. Each scar is a map of survival - each sculpture a body that tells of the burden of the past and the power of renewal.
