In her solo performance I BLEED GOLD, Freiburg dancer and choreographer Karolin Stächele (DAGADA dance company) invites you to a concert of contrasts: Based on her personal experiences as a dancer, single mother, musician, freelance artist and woman in a challenging working environment, she increasingly becomes an artistic medium on stage through dance, music and language, through which supra-individual emotions flow freely. She resists the temptation to conform, rebels against internal and external resistance, celebrates the absolute nadir and becomes intoxicated by her own abysses.

Between radical authenticity and fiction, Karolin Stächele unfolds a new version of the heroine's journey in her latest play, woven from the invisible struggles of everyday life. By transforming her personal life story into a collective experience, she invites the audience to step into those courageous moments of struggle that we may have forgotten or have not yet dared to face.

I BLEED GOLD is a production by DAGADA dance company in co-production with E-WERK Freiburg. The project is sponsored by the Cultural Office of the City of Freiburg and the Landesverband Freie Tanz- und Theaterschaffende Baden-Württemberg e.V., supported by funds from the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of the State of Baden-Württemberg. The research of I BLEED GOLD was supported by Labor à trois, a cross-border residency program of Roxy Birsfelden, Pôle Sud CDCN Strasbourg and Tanznetz Freiburg in cooperation with E-WERK Freiburg.

Karolin Stächele has been selected as a resident artist for the Grand Luxe network for the coming season, supported by Theater Freiburg. She currently receives conceptual funding from the Landesverband Freie Tanz- und Theaterschaffende Baden-Württemberg e.V. (2025-2027) and, for the second time, conceptual funding from the Cultural Office of the City of Freiburg; from 2026 she will receive institutional funding from the Cultural Office of the City of Freiburg.
