Ice Nine Kills is the name of that strange US metalcore band that likes to give its albums a kind of horror touch, but always has one eye on other things. It's fitting that they were originally founded in faraway Boston by two high school friends as a ska-punk band called Ice Nine, before finally switching to metalcore in 2010.
Their latest album has the (loud) title "The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood", which was released three years after "The Silver Scream: Welcome To Horrorwood" was released on Halloween 2021. Yes, when the chainsaw meets breakdown, watch out. The horror-metalcore slap they unpack is truly not for the faint-hearted. In any case, we think it's time for new music and remain curious! In any case - that much is certain - they won the 2024 Heavy Music Award in the "Best international live artist" category for good reason.
