In the organizer's words:

"The turnaround. Sounds like a new beginning. But what if it wasn't a beginning at all, but a separation, a rift?" The play was inspired by memories and interviews with women who grew up in East Germany. We talked about childhood in the East, about motherhood between work and care, about ruptures and losses. The realization: there is a lot to mourn.

One performer goes through seven stages of grief. She deals with processing and new beginnings. The end of a relationship is told. How to endure the contradictions between wanting to leave and being left? And Mama keeps calling.

It's about the East. It's about mourning. It's about relationships. How can we live with ambivalences for which there is no preparation?
