Immersive Sounds X Global Sonic Research

As part of an open call entitled "Futureproofing Connection", the ZKM | Herztlab, the Arts Council Korea (ARKO) and HELLERAU have for the first time selected three international artists to develop new projects in the field of current sound research and immersion, which will be produced and presented in Karlsruhe and HELLERAU.

Korean artist Philip Liu is developing an archive of acoustic memory through the interplay of sound and architecture. Anastasia Koroleva (Moscow/London) transforms spaces into labyrinths of digital-social networks with the help of hyper-directional "sound lasers". The interactive voice installation by L.A.-based artist Rania Kim (Portrait XO) uses AI-cloned voices to blur the distinction between subject and algorithm.
