Jewish traditions from Eastern and Central Europe

Time and again, people are threatened by persecution or war and have to flee in order to survive. For centuries, many Jews have suffered such a fate, and so a number of tales and stories from Jewish tradition tell of persecution and survival. Gidon Horowitz, one of the best-known storytellers in the German-speaking world, will recount some of these stories, as well as the corresponding experiences of his parents and grandparents - about their escape and survival during the Nazi era.
