In Extremo have been captivating audiences for around three decades with their unique blend of innovative rock and medieval sounds. Bagpipes, shawms, harps and hurdy-gurdies - combined with powerful guitar riffs and the distinctive voice of Michael Rhein - make their concerts an extraordinary experience.

Fans will also get their money's worth in 2026, as In Extremo will perform at the Geldern Open Air on August 15, 2026 and rock the stage in the unique setting of Walbeck's Waldfreibad.

In Extremo have not only shaped their own music genre, but have also developed into one of the best-known and most successful medieval rock bands in the world. With countless chart successes, celebrated albums and a live presence that is second to none, In Extremo are one of the most impressive stage acts in the German-speaking world. Their shows are raw, emotional, powerful - and absolutely full of energy.

At the beginning of 2025, the live edition "Wolkenschieber" (Ltd. Extended Edition) - Unter dem Blutmond LIVE was released, with which the band documented their tour for the previous album. This was the band's response to the sensational feedback from concert and festival-goers.

In 2025, In Extremo also celebrated their 30th anniversary: at a three-day festival on the legendary Loreley, they played together with 16 bands in front of thousands of fans, celebrating three decades of medieval rock in an impressive way.

For their spectacular stage show on August 15, 2026 as part of the Geldern Open Air, the band once again deliberately chose a location with a special atmosphere: The expansive stage surrounded by trees, water and rolling hills creates an incomparable backdrop that brings out the effect of the powerful rock as well as the medieval instruments in particular.
