Indisches Kulturwochenende

In the organizer's words:

The month of December means festive splendor and anticipation of the upcoming year-end celebrations. In India, festivals and occasions for celebration are found throughout the year, and hardly a day goes by without festivities taking place in one region or another. We are bringing a touch of these festivities to pre-Christmas Dresden with our weekend of Indian culture, where - in addition to various workshops and presentations for children and adults - we will also be presenting a small Indian Christmas market with traditional handicrafts and natural products.

From 4 p.m., we will be offering workshops on traditional Sanjhi scatter painting, Indian music and North Indian temple cuisine, combined with insights into the culture, history and way of life of the country. For children, there will be craft and design activities as well as Indian folk tales and stories. At 7 p.m. there will be a reception with Indian tea and snacks, followed by a slide show from 8 p.m. to conclude the day.

This event is co-financed by tax revenue on the basis of the budget approved by the Saxon state parliament.
