Ingrid Noll, born in Shanghai in 1935, studied German and art history in Bonn. She is the mother of three grown-up children and a grandmother of four. After the children left home, she began writing crime stories, all of which became bestsellers. In 2005, she received the Friedrich Glauser Honorary Award for her complete works. In February 2025, she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon.
