In the organizer's words:

In 1968, the Iron Curtain opens a crack: Stars from Eastern and Western Europe take to the stage for the first time at the "Intervision" music festival in Karlovy Vary, Czechoslovakia, just a few weeks before the invasion of Soviet tanks puts an end to the cultural politics of the Prague Spring. It is only after the fall of the Berlin Wall that another pan-European music competition is held: this time, Western European radio invites people to take part in the joint Eurovision Song Contest. Intervision falls into oblivion.

Fortunately, the European performance group BOYS* IN SYNC has a passion for song contests and great show moments! In InterEuroVision, they shed light on the forgotten Intervision contest, perform the hits from East and West in their native languages and ask about the political dimensions of both song contests: What symbolic effect does Intervision have for us today? Why do we know so little about this historic event? And what does this say about our collective European memory? To this day, European and international conflicts influence the Eurovision Song Contest and complicate the claim of an apolitical, joyful broadcast. At the same time, Eurovision has become a stage for queer empowerment. As apolitical as international singing competitions such as the Eurovision Song Contest or Intervision may seem, they are always politically motivated. The show interludes, commentaries and songs from the 1968 shows tell us about this context.

FÜR DICH FÜR DICH FÜR DICH is TNT's theater and performance festival from November 6-8 and 13-15. With NUDE by Katharina Oberlik, FEMALE FRIENDSHIP by Yinfu Gao and Ana Clara Montenegro, the documentary performance MISCARRIAGE OF FREEDOM and the spectacular INTEREUROVISION by BOYS* IN SYNC. There will also be music performances by TOMORROW I FEEL WRONG and CURD & CHUKOMI, a karaoke evening and a creative workshop.
