He is always on the lookout for new repertoire - and experiments with innovative concert formats. World premieres and collaborations with young and established composers such as Helmut Lachenmann, George Benjamin and Maurizio Pisati are at the heart of Stefan Koim's artistic work. He studied classical guitar and historical instruments in Cologne, Salzburg, Boston and Würzburg. In 2017 he completed his master class diploma with distinction. Academies (including the Accademia Musicale Chigiana Siena, Fondazione Giorgio Cini) and regular masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Konrad Junghänel, Jakob Lindberg and others round off his musical education.

Stefan Koim has won several national and international prizes as a soloist and was accepted into the Creative Europe Program of the European Union in 2020 with his ensemble "Cembaless" as well as receiving funding from the Kultursekretariat NRW.
