INTERWEAVINGS

In the organizer's words:

INTERWEAVINGS brings together textile installations, video and sound works as well as collages by Polish artist Magdalena Ciemierkiewicz. The focus is on the relationship between memory, cultural heritage and identity in the Polish-Ukrainian border region. The exhibition shows how personal and collective histories overlap, disappear and are rewritten and asks how it is possible to preserve what has been created at the intersection of different cultures.

Magdalena Ciemierkiewicz sees fabric as both a material and a metaphor - as a living archive in which gestures of production become gestures of remembrance. Her densely woven textiles, interwoven with embroidery, carry the weight of memory and the quiet resilience that lies in the act of careful preservation.
