Jana Frank und die Polarlichter – Nia Power Trio – Giulia

In the organizer's words:

TRIPLE CONCERT

Jana Frank and the Northern Lights

In times of hardened fronts and seemingly insurmountable divisions, Jana Frank's sincere songwriting makes its way unerringly between head and heart. Her predominantly German lyrics refuse to be polished and emphasize the courage to make vulnerability and flaws visible as a sign of true strength.

On her EP "Dreisamkeit", released in fall 2023, the Bremen musician combines catchy, flowing pop appeal with multi-layered poetry with great intuitive skill. Since 2024, Jana Frank has been interpreting her songs, which she has written and composed exclusively on her own, together with her three-piece all-female band "Die Polarlichter" (Julia Giampietro: guitar & vocals / Antonia Wohlgemuth: piano & vocals / Leandra Diehl: drums).

Sometimes introverted and playful, a few chords later powerful and loud, the four musicians unfold a harmonious timbre that oscillates between the melancholy folk of "Paris Paloma" and light-footed pop à la "BOY". Jana Frank's flair for sophisticated arrangements is the result of her many years of experience as bassist and singer in the internationally successful progressive rock band "Eyevory". After more than 200 concerts and five albums released, the musician took a family break for a few years. The experiences of this time enrich her lyrics with a feminist sensuality whose urgency does not need any grand gestures to be heard.

Nia Power Trio

The music of the NIA Power Tr io is humanity set to music, about love and loss, fears and longings, sometimes poetically packaged and sometimes completely raw and unadorned.

The three friends Antonia, Jannik and Jakob use their musical skills to create an energetic and expressive band sound that draws on folk, pop and rock genres and sprinkles a pinch of jazz attitude over the songs here and there at the end. The word "power" can be a little misleading, because the power here comes less from distorted guitars and breakneck beats, but rather from the unconditional will to the song itself. The entire setup seeks and finds the core of the song, the point at which everything comes together.

And it is precisely when the jazz tracks in these songs come to the fore that things become special. That's when another magic happens: Then the songs take on something indulgent and timeless, in which the listener can simply lose themselves.

Antonia Wohlgemuth - voc, git, comp
Jakob Fraisse - b
Jannik Stock - drums

Giulia

All Giulia really needs is her voice and a guitar - her crystal-clear vocals are moving.

With "Battlefield of Youth" (Fall 2024), Giulia enters the stage as a new, fresh voice in pop-rock. Her songs are direct, emotional and surprising - with unmistakable vocals that get under your skin. Catchy melodies, real instruments and a love of analog sounds characterize her music.

Her debut EP is more than just a collection of songs - it is the soundtrack of growing up: melancholic, but never hopeless, with a refreshing authenticity.

A particular highlight of the EP is the collaboration with Sina Drums, a YouTube sensation known for her drumming and passion for the rock music of the 60s and 70s. This creative connection continues in 2025 with a new EP.
