A subtle and true-to-life comedy with intellect and emotion, sense and sensuality that Jane Austen would certainly have enjoyed. Agathe, young, pretty and hopelessly single, works in a bookshop and has a Jane Austen novel recommendation for all of life's questions. When she's not listening to her best friend Félix's tales of conquest, she dreams of becoming a writer herself. When Félix submits the first chapters of her novel to a writing competition and Agathe wins a stay at the "Jane Austen Writers' Residency", she has to leave her comfort zone. But before she leaves for England, she surprises Félix with a romantic kiss. Confused, she sets off for a cozy, historic country estate, which is supposed to inspire her "very British" between tea parties and intellectually stimulating exchanges with colleagues. She is picked up by Jane Austen's great-great-great-great nephew, who initially proves to be nothing but a creep. Before Agathe knows it, she finds herself in the middle of a modern Jane Austen novel - caught between pride, prejudice and perhaps great love after all. Feel-good cinema in perfection that is utterly enchanting.
