Julius Rodriguez can be found in many places. You could walk into a packed jazz club and witness him sitting behind the piano, the energy from his fingers practically flowing through the room. Or scrolling through social media, watching him switch from drums to bass to guitar with the speed of a jump cut. He can also be seen on a festival circuit, standing on stage either solo or in the company of like-minded visionaries, jamming like his life depended on it. No matter where, the New York-born, Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer electrifies every alley. He also crosses supposed boundaries between genres and styles, redefining music to reflect his own creative inclinations and deliver a sound that is uniquely his. Through thousands of hours and hundreds of performances, he has honed his skills and established himself as a sought-after collaborator with Wynton Marsalis, Kurt Elling, Nick Hakim, Meshell Ndegeocello and many more - whether on piano, drums, synthesizer or bass.
